Heartbreak: healing gently when love ends

Grief for a relationship is real, and healing is rarely a straight line.

When a relationship ends, the loss can feel physical. That does not mean something is wrong with you. It means you cared.

1 · Let the feelings move

Sadness, anger and relief can arrive together. Writing, walking and talking to a trusted friend help feelings move through rather than get stuck.

2 · Protect your routines

Sleep, meals, movement and light make a real difference. Mute reminders for a while if you need space, and give yourself a gentle timeline.

3 · Rebuild slowly

Reconnect with friends and things that are only yours. If sadness feels too heavy or lasts a long time, a counsellor or doctor can help. You do not have to carry it alone.

Reflect: Who is one person you can reach out to this week?

Educational reading, not therapy or professional advice. If you are struggling, please talk to someone you trust or a qualified professional.
